The Careers That Work! scholarship program provides tuition assistance for high school graduates pursuing education at numerous private career colleges in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Many high schools in Washington are very familiar with this program since it has been offered in that state since 1999.  Washington high schools have awarded hundreds of graduating seniors the Careers That Work! scholarship over the last nine years.

The Careers That Work! program makes available to every high school (public and private) three $1000 tuition scholarships for high schools to award to students graduating in 2008.  These scholarships, awarded at the discretion of the high school, are tentative pending the student's acceptance for admission to the college.  If accepted, the scholarship will be credited to the student's tuition in equal disbursements during their first year.

Awards are made at the high school by scholarship directors or counselors who identify students interested in attending one of the participating private career colleges.  Students may be awarded the scholarship to attend any one of the 48 participating private career colleges even if the college is not in the same state.

Click the link below to see a list of participating colleges. For more information about each school, just click on the school name. Careers That Work! scholarship program information, scholarship certificates, and a catalog of participating institutions were mailed to each high school in January 2008 to the attention of "Scholarship Director".

To validate the award the director/counselor MUST complete "award record" online by using the link below, "click here to apply for a scholarship."

A Careers That Work! scholarship certificate is to be presented to the awarded student by the high school director/counselor.  A certificate template is included in the packet mailed to each high school.  The student is encouraged to make contact with the college immediately upon receiving notice of award and should bring the certificate when arriving at the college.
